Just a few days before the Kansas City Chiefs were scheduled to take on the Houston Texans, star quarterback Patrick Mahomes knew tight end Travis Kelce was going to step up for the team in the playoffs.
“I think just the greats, they step up in the playoffs, it’s just higher intensity and on the best players, and the best leaders step up and make the best plays, and he’s done that,” Mahomes told reporters earlier this week.
“I expect the same from him going into this playoffs, and I think his mentality that he steps into the football field with at practice and on game day resonates with the entire team and gets everybody to play their best football, and that’s what it takes in order to win championships.”
Mahomes might be Nostradamus, or he might just know his longtime teammate, because Kelce went off on Saturday afternoon.
The star tight end had one of his best games of the season, racking up seven receptions for 117 yards and a touchdown.

His touchdown reception led to an incredible moment from girlfriend Taylor Swift and Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, who was sitting in Swift’s suite at the game. Fans loved the new footage of Swift and Clark celebrating the Chiefs’ latest touchdown.
“Last night of Tic Tok and I was able to see Taylor this close! Thank you! ” one fan said. “Keep uploading we’re running out of time ” offered another.
“I love BOTH of their delightful reactions when Travis scored a touchdown albeit an easy one but still Travis is the man,” said a third.
“I love this so much,” added another. In the end Kansas City took down Houston by a score of 23-14 to punch their ticket to the AFC title game where they’ll host either the Baltimore Ravens or Buffalo Bills.
